9500 Liberty: A powerful film about immigration
9500 Liberty tells the story of Prince William County, Virginia, which passed an “Immigration Resolution” nearly identical to Arizona’s anti-immigrant law SB 1070. Not only did the law bitterly divide the community, but it also created a shocking economic impact that serves as a powerful lesson for Arizona and states considering similar laws. The film came out just months after the passage of SB 1070, and Presente.org saw it as an amazing opportunity to help promote real conversations about what laws like this mean for our country. So we designed a unique distribution strategy to ensure that the film was seen by as many people as possible. Presente.org members received a free copy if they could get 3 other people to sign up to watch the film with them. By the end of the promotion we distributed more than 3,000 copies, bringing over 10,000 new members into the Presente.org community.
